The Mellieħa Local Council will be financing the provision of a basic IT support service for persons having their ordinary residence within the locality of Mellieħa.
Mellieħa registered residents only will be eligible for the service, as corroborated by a Maltese Identity Card, or the lastest issue of the Electoral Register for Local Councils, or a Residence Permit issued by Identity Malta Agency.
The scheme provides for the services listed below:
· Drive Formatting (Provided installed software is licensed);
· Hardware Cleaning;
· Free download Anti-Virus software installation;
· Removal of viruses;
· Checking for software updates and configuration; and
· General Servicing.
Beneficiaries may avail themselves of a PC diagnostic service, either at the premises of the service provider, or on-line through the commonly used remote desktop softwares. Diagnosis of faults may entail that computers are retained at the service provider’s outlet for monitoring purposes.
The scheme does not provide for:
· On-site services;
· Replacement of faulty components;
· Installation of software which is downloadable against payment;

Requests for the service are to be registered on-line through the following link: https://forms.office.com/e/hXRCtuB9rZ . Upon the receipt of a request, the service provider will indicate whether the service can be delivered online, or at the authorised outlet.
The service will be available from Monday to Friday between 09:00 to 18:00, and on Saturdays from 09:00 to 12:00, unless a mutually convenient time is set with the beneficiary. Sundays and Public Holidays are not included in the service time schedule.
Service requests will be dealt with within two (2) working days following submission by the beneficiary.
Residents can benefit from this scheme once during a twelve-month period, unless for enquiries arising from the original service rendered, and limited to the tasks listed above.
This is a pilot scheme that shall be available as from the 1st February 2022 until the Mellieħa Local Council may decide otherwise.
